UPDATE: Riverhouse was cleared by the Lafayette Parish Department of Planning and Zoning on July 9th, 2018 (2 weeks after) to operate as a sober living home (recovery residence) in the River Oaks neighborhood without an “Occupational Licence”.

On July 21st, 2018 KLFY News (Lafayatte) reported in response to a disgruntled elderly neighbor in the River Oaks neighborhood who the day before had items stolen from her carport.  A neighbor told her that a suspicious man entered the Riverhouse Sober Living driveway after walking from the direction of her house around 3am the previous morning. She was unaware that a sober living home (Riverhouse) was operating in her neighborhood and took action to investigate the legality. She first called the Lafayette Parish Department of Planning and Zoning and then news agencies.

Once aware, Nic Holubik (of Riverhouse) did investigate the allegations by viewing the on site 24 hr CCTV footage. He found that there was a suspicious male who was previously a resident (6 months before) who entered the property and stole a bicycle from Riverhouse that same morning. No current residents or staff were involved.
